Antonio Huamaní

In 1991, Antonio Huamaní Granados, cabinetmaker by profession and amateur musician contemplated about his future. He had just gotten married, the economic situation was not at its best, and the salary he was receiving was not enough. He thought about working in the IT sector applying his computer studies, but rejected it immediately as he needed to update his knowledge. Suddenly, the image of a guitar came to his mind. He recalled that three years earlier, with the help of a friend, he had built an acoustic guitar for himself because he wanted to play. Then he realized his dream: to build. That night in July of 1991, sitting on a bench of his atelier, Antonio Huamaní took, unsuspectingly, one of the most important decisions of his life: to turn his passion into his job; to become a Luthier.
